GIRLISONFIRE SPILL is a limited-edition arrival object. In 2017 annual JCDecaux prize exhibition artist duo of young artists’ generation – Monika Janulevičiūtė (1990 b., LT, graphic designer, publisher) and Antanas Lučiūnas (1997 b., LT, performance artist) presented their co-creation debut project-performance GIRLISONFIRE. The international jury of the exhibition have chosen this artwork as the best one in the collection.
During the performance artists used original scent GIRLISONFIRE SPILL, which reveals odor notes of dusts, fuels, hot metal, flashing wires, water and ambulance. That smell is recreated in the form of natural ingredients essence, which is saved in capsule decorated with typography. Physically tiny artwork is capable to thickly fill space and create a sensory effect for the owner or viewer of the artwork. This creation can be interpreted as well as archival part of the performance, or agent of memory, or can be understood directly – as home scent.
